Sustainable Best Practices Framework
The new Calgary Fire Department (CFD) Headquarters building incorporates a wellness centre which will consist of a general practice clinic and the CFD occupational clinic, a museum, administrative office space, an executive group area with secure access on the 3rd floor and a large central reception space. The project is LEED-NC 2009 Gold certified.
MGB’s services included LEED consulting, energy modeling, fundamental and enhanced commissioning as well as measurement and verification. Additionally, MGB worked in conjunction with The City of Calgary and the Calgary Fire Department to produce a Sustainable Best Practices framework (or green building code) to satisfy a policy requirement for this project. The green building code was generated following extensive research and consultation with the user group and client.
